任务
Develop events and outreach opportunities to fulfill the university's community outreach mission by promoting service, 合作伙伴关系, and expertise that connect the University to our communities for community betterment and mutual success.

Create a culture and spirit of community and civic-mindedness by building on and promoting existing efforts through strategic outreach to community organizations and integration of academic excellence to enhance ODU's role in the Hampton Roads community, the Commonwealth and beyond.

Extending learning and service beyond the University
We develop events and build 合作伙伴关系 that connect the University to the world through expertise and service. Our programs and 合作伙伴关系 bring people together and strengthen the ties between ODU and the communities we serve. In recognition of our work to share knowledge and resources beyond the campus, The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of 教学 has recognized ODU with its selective Community Engagement Classification. We are always on the lookout for new connections and new opportunities for collaboration. 大家一起说!
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of 教学, describes community engagement as "the collaboration between institutions of higher education and their larger communities (local, 地区/国家, 国家, global) for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity."
